Stake Esports Betting: games, markets and how it works
Stake has a dedicated esports lobby with pre-match and live odds on Counter-Strike, Dota 2, League of Legends, Valorant and more. Here is what you can bet on, how maps and series are priced, and what to watch for.
What is Stake esports betting?
Stake esports betting is the esports section of the Stake Sportsbook. It has its own lobby and its own calendar, listing upcoming series from the biggest tournaments to smaller regional leagues, with pre-match and live odds on most of them.
Bets use your normal crypto balance, so there is nothing separate to fund. If you are setting up, see the deposit guides for Bitcoin, Litecoin and USDT. If your usual Stake address does not load, the live mirror list shows working addresses with response times measured in your browser.

Games and tournaments covered
The core titles are Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, League of Legends and Valorant, which together account for most of the esports betting volume at any bookmaker. Depending on the calendar you will also find Call of Duty, Rocket League, StarCraft II, Overwatch, Rainbow Six Siege and EA Sports FC.
Coverage is event-driven. During a major, such as a Counter-Strike major, The International for Dota 2, the League of Legends World Championship or Valorant Champions, you will see hundreds of lines per series. Outside the big events, tier-two and tier-three matches are listed with fewer markets and lower limits. Exactly which tournaments are listed on a given day is shown in the lobby.
Markets you will see
Match winner
The simplest bet: who wins the series. Most series are best-of-one, best-of-three or best-of-five, so check the format on the match page.
Map or game winner
A separate market for each map in Counter-Strike and Valorant or each game in Dota 2 and League of Legends. Each is priced independently, which creates variance within a series.
Handicaps and total maps
A map handicap such as -1.5 on the favourite in a best-of-three means they must win 2-0. Total maps over or under lets you bet on whether a series goes the distance.
In-game props
Where offered: round handicaps and totals in Counter-Strike and Valorant, kill totals, first blood, first to a number of kills, towers and Roshan in Dota 2, dragons and barons in League of Legends. Availability varies by event and the number of props rises for the biggest matches.
Outrights
Tournament winner markets are posted before and during events. They tie up funds for weeks and carry a larger margin than single-match prices.
How esports odds differ from traditional sports
Esports has less historical data than football or tennis, rosters change often, and patches alter the balance of a game between tournaments. That makes pricing harder, and it is why esports margins are often wider and limits lower than on major sports. Heavy favourites in best-of-one matches are rarely as safe as the price suggests; a single weak map or a bad pistol round swings the result.
Check the format, the map pool and recent roster news. Public results are easy to find, but do not mistake research for an edge: the bookmaker has the same information, and every price includes a margin. Anyone promising guaranteed esports tips is selling something.
Live betting in esports
Live markets update between rounds, maps and objectives. Prices move quickly and markets suspend around key events such as a round end or a team fight. Some streams run with a delay, so the data feed can be ahead of what you see on screen; this is why accepted prices may differ from the one you clicked and why a bet can be briefly held. Do not bet live purely off a delayed stream.
Cash out may be available on some esports bets, as on other sports; see the sportsbook guide for how it behaves.
Limits, settlement and void rules
Esports limits are generally lower than on football, and a maximum payout per bet applies. The bet slip shows both. Bets settle on official results, normally within minutes of the series ending, though disputes, tournament rulings and score changes can delay settlement.
Pay particular attention to forfeits, remakes, technical pauses and replacements. A series that does not finish may be void or may be settled on the result if a minimum number of maps was played. These rules differ by market and by game, so read the rules attached to the specific market. For any problem with a payout, use withdrawal pending as a starting point.

Betting responsibly on esports
Esports betting is easy to start and easy to overdo, with matches running around the clock. Set a weekly budget, keep stakes small relative to your balance, and do not bet on teams or players you cannot assess just to have action. Stake offers deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion. The responsible gambling guide explains how to use them. You must be 18 or over.
FAQ
Does Stake have esports betting?
Yes. Stake has a dedicated esports lobby inside the sportsbook with pre-match and live markets on the major titles.
Which esports games can I bet on at Stake?
Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, League of Legends and Valorant are the core titles, with others such as Call of Duty and Rocket League listed when events run. The lobby shows what is currently available.
Can I bet on esports live?
Yes, most major series have in-play markets that update between rounds and maps. Delays between a stream and the odds feed are common, so be careful betting purely off what you see.
What happens if a match is forfeited or postponed?
It depends on the market rules. Postponed or unfinished series can be void or settled on a minimum number of maps played, so read the rules for your selection before staking.
Are esports limits lower than football?
Generally yes. The bet slip shows the minimum, maximum stake and maximum payout for each selection.
Can I bet on esports with crypto?
Yes. Stakes and payouts use your crypto balance in the currency you hold.
Is esports betting available in my country?
Not everywhere. Stake does not accept players from some countries, and some jurisdictions restrict esports betting or set higher age limits. Check Stake's terms and local law.
Do esports bets count towards VIP?
Sports wagering counts towards VIP progress; see the [VIP guide](/stake-vip) for how rewards work.
Is there a reliable system to win at esports betting?
No. Prices include a margin, and results are volatile. Research can help you understand a match, but it cannot guarantee any outcome.
