Stake Originals: every in-house game, RTP and how they work

Stake Originals are the in-house games the site built its name on: Dice, Crash, Plinko, Mines, Limbo and more. They are fast, provably fair and widely reported at 99% RTP. This guide explains each one and what the numbers mean.

What are Stake Originals?

Stake Originals are the games Stake designs and runs itself, as opposed to slots and live tables supplied by outside studios. They are simple, fast and built around a clear choice: you set the risk, press bet and see the result in a second or two. Most carry a house edge of about 1%, which Stake publishes as a 99% return to player (RTP), and every round can be checked with the provably fair tool described in our provably fair guide.

Originals are the reason many players first used the site, and rivals such as Shuffle, Roobet and BC.Game all copy the format. If the usual address is slow or blocked on your network, the live mirror list shows working addresses with response times measured in your browser.

They are for adults only. A low house edge does not make them safe: the speed means you can lose a budget in minutes. Read the responsible gambling guide before you start.

The main Stake Originals

Dice

Roll a number from 0 to 100 and bet over or under a target. You choose the win chance, and the payout adjusts to match. It is the cleanest illustration of the edge. See Stake Dice.

Crash

A multiplier climbs from 1.00x and crashes at a random point. You cash out before it does, or lose the bet. See Stake Crash.

Limbo

Pick a target multiplier; if the result is at or above it you win. A one-click cousin of Crash with no waiting. See Stake Limbo.

Plinko

A ball falls through pegs into multiplier slots, with 8 to 16 rows and three risk levels. See Stake Plinko.

Mines

Reveal gems on a grid while avoiding hidden mines. More mines means bigger multipliers and a faster loss. See Stake Mines.

Others

Keno, Hilo, Wheel and Towers round out the classic set. Roulette, blackjack and baccarat Originals exist in the same style, as do newer titles. The lobby's Originals filter shows the current list, which Stake adds to over time.

What 99% RTP really means

RTP is a long-run average across a very large number of rounds. At 99%, the game keeps about 1 unit of every 100 wagered over time. In any session, results swing far from that: you can win many times in a row or lose steadily, and the shorter the run the wider the spread.

What changes between settings is variance, not the average. A Dice bet at 90% win chance pays tiny wins often, and one at 2% pays rarely but large. In Plinko, a high-risk 16-row board returns 0.2x on most drops and 1,000x once in tens of thousands. Both can have the same 99% RTP. If a figure looks different in the game's info panel, trust the panel, because Stake can adjust settings, and a few newer titles use different returns.

Compare this with slots, where RTPs commonly sit between about 94% and 97% depending on the studio and the casino's chosen setting. The lower edge is a real advantage of Originals, but a lower edge only slows the expected loss. It does not stop it. See Stake Slots for the comparison.

Auto-bet, tools and limits

Most Originals include an Auto tab that places repeated bets with rules: stop after a number of rounds, increase or reset the bet after a win or loss, and stop on profit or loss thresholds. Use the stop-loss and stop-profit fields. Without them, auto-bet makes it easy to burn a budget you were only half watching.

The game page also shows the fairness icon, the bet history, and a sound and animation toggle. Stake's account settings include deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion. Rewards such as rakeback come with higher VIP levels; the Stake VIP guide explains the tiers, and they should never change how much you are willing to stake.

Which Original suits which player?

  • Learning the maths: Dice, because one slider controls win chance and payout.
  • Short sessions with little input: Limbo or Plinko.
  • Active decisions: Mines, Hilo and Towers ask you to choose when to stop.
  • Watching a shared round: Crash.
  • High volatility chasers: high-risk Plinko or high-target Limbo, with small stakes.

No strategy lowers the house edge in any of them. Patterns on screen, hot streaks and progression systems do not change the odds of the next round, because each round is independent. Our guides on Plinko strategy and Mines strategy look at what bankroll rules can and cannot do.

Stake Originals pros and cons

Pros
  • Low house edge, widely reported at 99% RTP
  • Provably fair with your own client seed
  • Fast, simple and fully adjustable risk
  • Auto-bet with stop rules
Cons
  • The speed makes heavy losses possible in minutes
  • Some games have high variance despite the high RTP
  • Rivals copy the format, so exclusivity is limited
  • Fairness checks prove the process, not that you will win

FAQ

What are Stake Originals?

They are games built and operated by Stake itself, such as Dice, Crash, Limbo, Plinko and Mines. They are quick, low-edge and provably fair.

What is the RTP of Stake Originals?

Most are widely reported at 99%, a house edge of about 1%. The exact figure is shown in each game's info panel, and a few titles differ.

Are Stake Originals rigged?

They are provably fair, so you can check each result against the hashed server seed, your client seed and the nonce. That proves the result was not changed after your bet. It does not remove the house edge.

Which Stake Original has the best odds?

Several share a roughly 99% RTP. The best odds in terms of win frequency are low-target Limbo, high win-chance Dice and low-risk Plinko, which pay small amounts often.

Can you win consistently at Stake Originals?

No. Every game carries a house edge, and each round is independent. Luck decides short sessions, and the edge wins over a long run.

Do Stake Originals count towards wagering?

Often yes, but this depends on the promotion. Read the terms of any offer before you play.

Are Stake Originals available on mirrors?

Yes. A mirror is the same platform on another address, so Originals, your balance and your account are the same.

What is the difference between Originals and slots?

Originals are designed by Stake with simple rules and a low edge. Slots come from outside studios, have themes and bonus features, and commonly return less than 99%.

Is there a demo mode?

Some games offer a play-for-fun mode that uses no balance. Availability can vary by game and country, so check the game page.
