Stake Sportsbook: markets, bet types, odds and cash out
The Stake Sportsbook sits beside the casino in the same account and the same crypto wallet. This guide covers what you can bet on, how the bet types work, odds formats, live betting, cash out and the limits you should expect.
What is the Stake Sportsbook?
The Stake Sportsbook is the sports half of the platform. You use the same account, the same crypto balance and the same cashier as the casino, then switch to the Sports tab to bet on football, basketball, tennis, American football, MMA, cricket, esports and dozens of smaller sports. There is no separate sign-up and no separate wallet.
It is built around crypto. Stakes are placed in whichever currency you hold, and winnings are credited in the same currency, so a bet in Bitcoin pays out in Bitcoin. If you are new to funding the account, start with the Bitcoin deposit guide, the Litecoin guide or the USDT guide.
If your usual Stake address is slow or blocked on your network, the live mirror list shows working addresses with response times measured in your browser. Mirrors reach the same account and the same sportsbook.

Sports and markets
Football (soccer) is the deepest market, with top leagues, cups and international tournaments carrying hundreds of lines per match. Basketball, tennis, baseball, ice hockey, American football and MMA follow, along with cricket, rugby, darts, snooker, handball, volleyball and motorsport. Esports has its own lobby; see the esports betting guide. Sport-specific pages cover the biggest draws: football, the NFL, UFC and cricket.
A typical football match offers the 1X2 result, double chance, draw no bet, over/under goals, both teams to score, Asian handicaps, correct score, first and anytime goalscorer, and corner and card markets. Lower leagues and smaller sports show fewer lines and lower limits. Exact market lists change with the fixture, so treat the match page itself as the source of truth.
Bet types explained
Single
One selection, one price. Stake multiplied by decimal odds gives the return, stake included. A 10 stake at 2.50 returns 25 if it wins, a profit of 15.
Multi (accumulator)
Two or more selections combined, with the odds multiplied together. Every leg has to win. Multis pay more for the same stake, and they lose more often, because the bookmaker's margin is applied to every leg and compounds. Treat a ten-leg multi as a lottery ticket, not a strategy.
Same-game combinations
Where offered, you can combine markets from one match, such as a team to win and a player to score. Prices are calculated with the correlation between the legs in mind, so they are rarely as generous as they look. Not every match offers this, and the label and options differ by sport.
Live bets
In-play bets are placed while the game is running. Prices update continuously and a bet can be delayed or declined for a few seconds while the market checks the score. The slip shows the final accepted price, not the one you clicked, if the two differ.
Odds formats and how to read them
Decimal odds are the default and the simplest: the number is what one unit returns including your stake. 1.80 returns 1.80 for every 1 staked; 4.00 returns 4.00. The implied probability is 1 divided by the odds, so 2.00 implies 50%, 1.25 implies 80%.
If you prefer fractional (5/2) or American (+250, -150) odds, switch the format in the sportsbook settings; the underlying price is identical. The format is a display choice and has no effect on payout.
A useful habit is to add the implied probabilities of every outcome in a market. If a two-way market at 1.91 and 1.91 adds to about 104.7%, the extra 4.7% is the bookmaker's margin. Lower margins on the same event are better for you, and margins are usually thinnest on major football and tennis markets and widest on obscure props.
Live betting and cash out
Live betting is where the sportsbook feels fastest. Match clocks, scores and key events update on screen, with in-play markets that open, suspend and reopen as the game moves. Suspension is normal after a goal, a red card or a break point and does not mean a fault.
Cash out lets you settle a bet before the event ends. The offered amount reflects the current price of your selection minus the bookmaker's margin, so it is almost always slightly lower than the fair value. It is available on many, but not all, bets and markets, and can be withdrawn without notice when the market suspends. Some platforms also offer partial cash out; check the bet slip to see what is available on your bet.
Cash out is a tool for managing risk, not a way to remove it. Repeatedly cashing out early on winning bets gives away the margin each time. Decide your plan before the match, not in the final minutes.
Staking, limits and settlement
Stakes come out of your crypto balance at the moment the bet is accepted. Minimum stakes are small and shown in the slip; maximum stakes depend on the sport, the league and the market, and Stake also applies a maximum payout per bet. Big markets such as Premier League and NFL match results carry the highest limits; niche props carry the lowest.
Bets settle automatically after official results, with winnings credited to your balance. Void rules apply to postponed games, abandoned matches, retired players and walkovers, and differ by sport. The terms for each market are in the sportsbook rules; read them for any bet you rely on, especially player props and tennis retirements.
Withdrawals follow the normal cashier flow and the identity checks described in the Stake review. If a payout does not arrive when you expect it, see withdrawal pending.
Rewards, VIP and promotions
Sports play counts towards the VIP programme, with rakeback and rewards tied to the amount wagered. Sports promotions such as odds boosts, free bets and multi insurance appear on the promotions page from time to time, each with its own terms. Welcome and sign-up offers are listed on the mirror list page; always read the wagering and eligible-market terms before claiming one, and never chase a bonus with money you cannot afford to lose.
Pros and cons
- One account, one crypto balance for casino and sports
- Deep football, basketball, tennis and MMA coverage with live betting
- Cash out on many bets
- Crypto stakes and payouts with no card needed
- Sports wagering counts towards VIP
- Not open in every country; local restrictions apply
- Per-market limits and maximum payouts can be low outside the big leagues
- Same-game and multi prices carry a compounding margin
- Cash out is not offered on every bet and can be suspended
- Identity checks can apply before large withdrawals
Responsible betting
Betting on sport is not a way to make money. The bookmaker's margin is built into every price, and over time the odds favour the house. Set a deposit limit before you start, bet only what you can afford to lose and stop after a bad run rather than chasing. Stake provides limits, time-outs and self-exclusion in the account settings. Read the responsible gambling guide and use it. You must be 18 or over.
FAQ
Is the Stake Sportsbook the same account as the casino?
Yes. You log in once and switch between Casino and Sports. The crypto balance, VIP progress and cashier are shared, so you do not need to move funds between products.
Can I bet on sports with Bitcoin?
Yes. Stakes are placed in the currency you hold, including Bitcoin and other supported coins, and winnings are paid back in the same coin. The coin list is shown in the cashier.
What odds format does Stake use?
Decimal odds are the default. You can usually switch to other formats such as American or fractional in the settings; the payout is the same whichever you pick.
Does Stake have cash out?
Cash out is offered on many bets and markets, not all of them. The amount moves with the match and is normally a little below the fair value of your bet, and it can disappear when a market is suspended.
Does Stake offer live betting?
Yes. In-play markets are available on major sports and update through the match. Prices can change or a bet can be briefly delayed while the score is checked.
What is the maximum bet on Stake sports?
It depends on the sport, league and market, and a maximum payout per bet also applies. The bet slip shows the limit for your selection, so check it before you stake.
Can I use Stake Sportsbook in the US?
Stake.com does not accept players from every country, and US access is restricted. Check Stake's terms and the law where you live; Stake.us is a separate sweepstakes product and works differently.
Do sports bets count towards VIP?
Yes, wagering on sports counts towards the VIP programme, with rakeback and rewards tied to turnover. Details are in the [VIP guide](/stake-vip).
Can I use a mirror to bet on sports?
Mirrors are alternative addresses to the same site, useful when a domain is slow or blocked by your network. They do not make betting legal where it is not, and you must follow local law and Stake's terms.
Is there a guaranteed way to win on sports betting?
No. Every price includes the bookmaker's margin, and nobody can promise winning outcomes. Treat betting as entertainment with a fixed budget.
