Stake Luxembourg

Luxembourg still runs gambling under a law from 1977 and has never licensed online casinos, but nor does it block foreign sites or penalise players. A reform is under way. Here is where Stake.com fits today, what may change, and how players in the Grand Duchy fund an account.

Why Stake may not load in Luxembourg

Luxembourg providers such as POST, Tango and Orange do not run a gambling block list today. When Stake.com does not load, the cause is usually a slow route, a DNS problem, a filtered corporate network (common among the many cross-border office workers) or a domain Stake has rotated out.

A mirror is the same Stake platform on another address, with your login and balance unchanged. The list on this page is timed from your own browser, so the address that answers fastest on your connection comes first. See how to find a working Stake mirror for how to spot a fake, and why Stake mirror domains change for the background.

If the online reform introduces geo-blocking, a mirror is not a way round it, and you must follow Luxembourg law. Do not use a VPN to change your apparent location; Stake's terms forbid it and accounts that do so can be closed.

How to open Stake in Luxembourg with a mirror

  1. Open this page and wait a few seconds while every mirror is tested from your connection in Luxembourg.
  2. Pick the mirror marked with an asterisk: it answered fastest on the last check.
  3. Check that the address bar shows exactly the host from the list and a valid HTTPS padlock.
  4. Log in with your usual Stake account. Balance, history and VIP progress are the same on every mirror.
  5. If it stops loading later, come back here instead of searching: the list is re-tested on every visit.

Payments in Luxembourg

Stake is crypto-first, and that is how most players in Luxembourg use it. Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDC, USDT and Litecoin can be deposited and withdrawn directly. Buy them on an exchange registered with the CSSF or authorised under the EU's MiCA rules, then send them to your Stake deposit address. Our guides to depositing Bitcoin and depositing USDT cover network choice and fees.

Luxembourgers pay day to day with cards, SEPA instant transfers and Payconiq. These are not normally offered at Stake directly; if the cashier shows a card or bank on-ramp, treat it as a convenience that can change. Set the display currency to EUR so balances read in euros.

Winnings are generally untaxed for recreational players, but selling or swapping crypto can have tax consequences. This is not tax advice; check with the Administration des contributions directes or an adviser.

Tips for players in Luxembourg

  • Keep an eye on the gambling reform: the online phase may bring a monopoly and geo-blocking.
  • Buy crypto on a CSSF-registered or MiCA-authorised exchange and send a small test deposit first.
  • Use a low-fee network for small deposits; see our Litecoin deposit guide.
  • Set the display currency to EUR and keep odds in decimal.
  • Keep records of crypto trades in case they matter for tax.
  • Bookmark a working mirror for days when the main domain is slow or a work network blocks it.
  • Set deposit limits and read our responsible gambling guide.

FAQ

Is Stake legal in Luxembourg?

Stake's terms do not exclude Luxembourg, and Luxembourg neither blocks foreign gambling sites nor penalises players today. Stake has no Luxembourg authorisation, because none exists for private online casinos. This is not legal advice.

Is Luxembourg changing its gambling law?

Yes. The 1977 law is being reformed in stages. The first bill, from January 2026, covers illegal gaming terminals; the online phase, possibly a casino monopoly with geo-blocking, is still being evaluated.

Are gambling winnings taxed in Luxembourg?

Recreational gambling winnings are generally not subject to personal income tax, but crypto gains and professional play can be treated differently. This is not tax advice.

Can I pay with Payconiq or a card at Stake?

Not directly as a rule. Players usually deposit crypto bought on a regulated exchange. Check the cashier for any on-ramp options shown to you.

Do I need a new account for a Stake mirror?

No. Every mirror is the same platform, so your login, balance and history carry over.
